Tips on implementing the ultimate morning cleanse routine!

If you have not yet heard of the Medical Medium, you are in for a treat. The Medical Medium, written by Anthony Williams, is a nutrition bible of sorts with a motherlode of information on using food as medicine to find relief and often cures for chronic and mystery illnesses.

Mystery Illnesses are ailments that have been misdiagnosed or ineffectively treated or that doctors can’t seem to resolve. Often times these ailments are caused by the Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) that has become active and is attacking a plethora of body systems. Some examples include Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, adrenal fatigue, chronic fatigue syndrome, hormonal imbalances, multiple sclerosis, depression, migraines, rheumatoid arthritis, hypothyroidism, ADD, ADHD, PTSD, PMS, and a slew of other common ailments.

Anthony Williams presents a cleanse diet free from processed and inflammatory foods. These common inflammatory foods such as dairy, gluten, eggs, oils/fats, and highly processed foods are what feed EBV. His books contain valuable information and recipes on using foods and fresh juice to heal. His holy grail of nutrition medicine is his certainty in fresh celery juice

Celery juice must be consumed on an empty stomach, and you will reap the best benefits by drinking this first thing in the morning. Cleansing out EBV-feeding foods can take 28 days, and you will start to feel the benefits after only 3 days. However, I understand life can be difficult to balance so I have incorporated a small portion of the cleanse habits into my daily morning routine as follows:

First thing in the morning you will:

1. Drink 16-32oz of lemon or lime water upon waking

2. Drink 16-32oz of fresh celery juice on an empty stomach

3. Eat a fresh fruit breakfast (ideal) OR steamed potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams, winter squash, millet, or oats!

4. Drink at least 16 oz of water or coconut water

Avoid: Radical fats (oils, chicken, eggs, bacon, milk, yogurt, nut butter, oil, avocado, etc.), dried fruits, salts

I highly recommend beginning your day with these four steps and saving your morning coffee until at least 15 minutes after this routine. With this new morning routine, get ready to hit the ground running. Start your day off hydrated, cleansed, and full of fresh vitamins!
